Home Excess Protection Cover
SHAPE YOUR COVER
We aim to make insurance easy for our customers, so we don’t want you to have to pay out unnecessarily if you need to make a claim.
That’s why we’ve introduced excess protection to our home insurance. It’s an optional add-on policy that’s designed to refund your excess charge.
You’ll need to pay your excess amount upfront, but you can then claim it back following a successful home insurance claim – giving you peace of mind. There’s also an option to cover your excess for subsidence claims for £30.25 per year, which is higher than our standard policy excess.
WHY CHOOSE EXCESS PROTECTION?
A home insurance excess is an amount you have to pay towards an insurance claim. So, for example, if you make a successful insurance claim of £300 and you have a £100 excess, then you’d pay the first £100 and the insurer would cover the remaining £200.
It’s possible to reduce your excess costs by paying higher premiums – while paying a lower premium usually mean your excess increases.
However, with excess protection, you’ll have the chance to recover your excess – up to £500 – meaning you won’t be out of pocket if you have to make a claim.
You can find the full details of our home insurance excess protection option, including the full terms and conditions, in your home insurance policy booklet.
