What is legal expenses cover for home insurance?

Home Legal Expenses is optional cover, provided by the RAC that you can add at the start or during your policy. This legal cover will provide you with legal representation up to £100,000 to cover a wide range of incidents, including:  

  • Employment disputes - for example, unpaid wages or unfair dismissal from work
  • Contract disputes - for example if you have had a new kitchen installed unsatisfactorily or have purchased a faulty sofa
  • Personal injury - such as compensation for accidents that have been caused by the fault or negligence of a third party
  • Property disputes - for example, boundaries, trespassing on your property, or related damage or nuisance
  • Clinical negligence - for example if the wrong medication or treatment has been given
  • Motor prosecution defence - for example speeding fine that you believe to be incorrect.

Plus, you’ll have access to a 24 hour, 365 days a year legal helpline.
