Skoda insurance groups and tax bands information

When putting together a quote for your insurance premium, insurers will look at lots of factors about yourself and your car that give an indication of your risk. This could include your age, occupation and where you live, along with specifics about the car you drive. That could include the insurance group of your car, which is calculated based on bandings running from 1-50 that reflect the repair costs associated with its model.

Another banding system is used to calculate your Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). This is a tax largely charged at a flat rate annually, but in the first year that your car is registered, what you’ll pay will depend on your car model’s observed CO2 emissions.
