Ageas UK has officially started the integration of esure, following the successful completion of the acquisition earlier this week. The focus now is on ensuring a smooth transition for customers and employees, while leveraging the combined scale, technology, and innovation to drive future growth.
To build a unified business that brings together Ageas’s broker and partnerships expertise, esure’s strength in direct-to-consumer, and Saga’s deep understanding of the over-50s market, Ageas UK CEO Ant Middle has announced upcoming changes to the Executive Team.
Reporting to Ant, the newly appointed Executive Team will include the following leaders:
- Adam Beckett, Managing Director – Broker & Partnerships
- Alan MacEwan, Chief Customer & Operations Officer
- Andy Burton, Chief Technology Officer (Interim)
- Caroline Smith, Chief People Officer
- Helen Cooper, Chief Risk Officer
- Jonathan Price, Chief Financial Officer
- Peter Martin-Simon, CEO esure & Managing Director – Direct
- Stephen Linklater, Chief Claims Officer
- Thomas Quirke, Chief Underwriting Officer
Also confirmed are interim appointments to support the integration of esure and Saga. Adam Clarke becomes Managing Director of the Saga partnership, leading the transfer of its motor and home insurance business to Ageas. And Dave Hudson continues as Chief Transformation Officer, supporting the integration programme.
These changes are subject to regulatory approval which we expect early in 2026, and mark the next step in building on the strong foundations laid by the existing leadership teams. In the meantime, the business will continue to operate under the current Ageas UK and esure leadership and governance structures, with transition arrangements being carefully agreed to ensure a smooth and seamless handover.
“I am fortunate to work with some brilliant people with a diverse range of expertise and industry experience, which made it an incredibly tough decision when integrating two teams. However, in bringing together exceptional talent from both Ageas and esure, we have a leadership team with the depth and experience to drive our integration and future success. I’m confident that together, we will deliver on our strategy and continue to shape a sustainable and customer-focused insurer for the long term.
“As we welcome leaders into the new team, I want to take a moment to thank those who are moving on or transitioning to new roles. Their invaluable contributions have helped shape the business we are today, and their legacy will continue to influence our journey.
"I’m proud that our leadership evolution reflects both continuity and ambition for the future.” - Ant Middle, CEO, Ageas UK
