Ageas Insurance Limited and Ageas Retail Limited (collectively “Ageas”, “we”, “us” or “our”) are working with Scone to offer you the opportunity to help you transform your home’s energy efficiency this Winter.
What is available to you
As an Ageas customer, we are giving you the chance to adopt sustainable behaviours around your home this Winter, as well as helping to save you money on your energy bills. Once you sign up to the Scone App and join the Ageas Community, in addition to receiving helpful hints and tips on how to reduce your energy usage, you will also be able to join the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge, which will reward you with prizes, the more sustainable steps you take to make your home more energy efficient.
Who is Scone?
Scone works to help people make changes to their daily habits in order to reduce their carbon footprint. This is done through an App which provides tips and suggestions on improving your energy habits.
When you sign up to the Scone App, you will also be agreeing to their Terms and Conditions of usage, so please ensure that you read these and their Privacy Policy so that you fully understand what data they need and the purposes that it will be used for.
Scone will be solely responsible for all activity relating to the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge, including, without limitation, access to the App and managing and processing the distribution of reward vouchers and prizes arising from the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge.
Please note that completion of the activity set out in section 3 of Scone’s Terms and Conditions does not form part of the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge.
How to Join the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge
In order to take part in the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge, you will need to:
- Download the Scone App onto your own device.
- Create your account. You will then need to join the Ageas Community.
- Remember to check the Scone App from the start of the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge on the 17th November 2024.
- Start collecting your “Leaves” until the 15th December 2024 to help you climb the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge Leaderboard and try out the energy saving tips to find ways to reduce your energy consumption.
- During the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge, you will have the opportunity to complete a home survey which Scone will use to create a home model for you. Completion of the home survey is optional. You are not required to complete the survey to participate in the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge.
- If you do select to complete the home survey, Scone will create a home model for you, which will combine available data sources with the information you provide to them such as your property size, age and heating systems. The model estimates an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating by analysing energy consumption factors such as insulation and energy sources.
- In addition, Scone will also provide you with recommendations on what you can do to improve your EPC rating. These are purely for your personal information and aimed at providing suggestions on how to optimise energy savings.
- During the four week Challenge, Scone will keep you updated on your progress towards saving energy and money. If you do not complete the home survey, you will not see the impact of your actions and you will not receive a personal energy recommendation.
Terms and Conditions of the Ageas Winter Energy Challenge (“Challenge”)
- To enter the Challenge, you must be an existing Ageas policyholder, have received the link to participate in the Challenge and have downloaded and signed-up to the Scone App (the “App”).
- Entry is limited to one Entrant per household. “Entrant” shall be defined as an existing Ageas policyholder. Entrants found to be using multiple email accounts and/or false details to enter more than once will be disqualified and deemed ineligible to earn Rewards.
- No purchase is necessary.
- The Challenge will commence at 01.01 GMT on the 17th November 2024 (“Start Date”) and will last for four (4) weeks closing at 01.00 GMT on 15th December 2024 (“Closing Date”).
- During the Challenge, a variety of different tasks will be suggested to you in order to earn points for participating called “Leaves”. All Entrants will see the same set of Tasks and not all tasks will be listed at the Start Date. Tasks will appear in the App at different times throughout the Challenge. Tasks may include quizzes and simple actions you can take within the home to adopt sustainable behaviours. You will be required to indicate in the App when a task has been completed, and may be asked to submit additional information, such as a photograph, to evidence that the task is complete. The more tasks you complete, the more Leaves you can earn, which be converted into “Coins” for you to spend on rewards. Ten (10) Leaves is equal to one (1) Coin. Your total count of Leaves, and their equivalent value in Coins, will be collected in a “Wallet” contained within the App. You will receive email notification when you have earned enough Coins to spend on Reward Vouchers, and may also receive updates via push notifications if you have selected to receive them from the App.
- During the Challenge, once you have saved enough, you will be able to purchase the following Reward Vouchers using your Coins:
Lush Voucher (5 pounds): 30 Coins
Abel & Cole (15 pounds): 75 Coins
National Garden Gift Vouchers (15 pounds): 75 Coins
B&Q Voucher (25 pounds): 100 Coins
Amazon Voucher (25 pounds): 100 Coins - You will only be able to purchase one of each Reward Voucher during the Challenge, provided you have earned enough Coins to do so.
- Reward Vouchers can be purchased throughout the Challenge period and for two (2) weeks after the Closing Date, until 23:59 GMT 27th December 2024.
- Spending your Coins does not affect the total number of Leaves earned during the Challenge. All Entrants will be placed on a Leaderboard within the App and ranked in order of the number of Leaves earned and tasks completed during the Challenge – for example, an entrant with 200 Leaves earned from 5 completed tasks will be ranked higher than an entrant with 200 Leaves earned from 3 completed tasks. The Leaderboard will show the names of the top ten (10) ranked Entrants and your position on the Leaderboard in relation to the top ten. The Leaderboard will be visible in the App throughout the Challenge
- After the Closing Date of the Challenge, the top ten (10) Entrants on the Leaderboard will each receive a Prize. The Prizes are as follows:
3 x £250 Virgin Experience Vouchers for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
7 x pairs of Fairbuds XL. Fairphone sustainable headphones for 4th – 10th place. - Prizes are not transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
- In the unlikely event of multiple Entrants having earned an identical number of Leaves and competed the same number of tasks for any of the top 10 places, the winners will be selected using a random number generator, Entrants receiving a Prize will be contacted by the Promoter via the email address used when signing up for the Challenge and winners in 4th – 10 places will be required to provide additional information in order to receive their Prize . The Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner at random if they are unable to contact the original winner within 10 days of the Closing Date.
- Prizes are non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-negotiable, or non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. The Promoter’s decision regarding any aspect of the Challenge is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
- The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a Prize for something similar of equal or higher value.
- The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the Challenge or amend the Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Any amendment to the Terms and Conditions or cancellation of the Challenge will be displayed or published within the App.
- By participating in this Challenge, you agree to the Promoter using your name and contact details to administer the Challenge, in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy.
- Neither Ageas nor the Promotor accepts any responsibility or liability for any damage, loss, injury (other than liability for personal injury or death as a result of our negligence) or disappointment of any kind suffered by any participant in entering the Challenge, including as a result of any participant winning or not winning a Prize or as a result of taking up a Prize.
- Ageas and the Promotor do not accept any responsibility for any error, omission, deletion, defect, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries, or for any entries lost or delayed or other causes outside its control. Ageas and the Promotor are not responsible for any technical issues which prevent any person from successfully entering participating in, and/ or completing the Challenge.
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England.
