As the motorcycling season gets underway, Ageas, the UK’s 2nd largest Motorcycle insurer*, has put its specialist Motorcycle Claims Team through a series of training sessions in conjunction with the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA).

The training sessions have become a regular feature within the claims team, helping its members to get under the skin of what it’s really like to be a motorcyclist and the skills required to be a good biker.  This greater level of understanding has led to increasingly high customer satisfaction levels.  In its most recent satisfaction survey Ageas found that 89% of Motorcycle customers were satisfied with the way their claim was handled, an increase on last year.  93% of Motorcycle customers were satisfied with the professionalism of Ageas employees, with 67% very satisfied**.

Rob Smale, Claims Director at Ageas Insurance said: “We are very proud of our high levels of customer satisfaction and have no doubt that much of this is down to the fact that our Claims people have undergone this training and can therefore relate to our policyholders when managing claims.   It also helps that around 80% of the team hold a bike licence themselves, so they know how it feels to be on the open road. Brokers can rest assured that when their customers are insured by Ageas, our claims handlers really understand the experience of motorcycling and the incidents from which a claim may arise, therefore we can continue to provide the best service possible and help our customers to enjoy the biking season.”
