Today, 22 October 2013, the application to transfer business from Groupama Insurance Company Limited (GICL) to Ageas Insurance Limited (AIL) was heard by the High Court. The High Court approved the application and the transfer scheme will take effect on 31 October 2013 at 23:59 GMT.
From that date, Ageas Insurance Limited will be the underwriter of all former GICL covers, which are now branded Ageas Optima and Ageas Exclusively. As the integration of the business continues with a move onto a single IT platform, Ageas will continue to develop and evolve its broker proposition offering the same high levels of service that brokers and customers have come to expect from the Insurer.
François-Xavier Boisseau, CEO of Ageas Insurance Limited said: “The High Court’s approval is a very important step in the process to become one business under one, strong brand. Brokers are already starting to benefit from access to a greatly enhanced proposition in Personal and Commercial lines business, as a result of the integration process. Our whole objective is to empower brokers with the products and tools to better serve their customers by capitalising on our combined strengths in standard product lines and specialist niche areas.
“This development also gives brokers added reassurance that we have the financial strength and commitment to continue to deliver the specialist underwriting skills and innovative products they have always valued combined with guaranteed high levels of customer service.”
In early November, a completely new Ageas website will be launched for brokers and policyholders. Optima and Exclusively policy literature is also being rebranded and updated and will be available to order from the website.
