Ageas' new capability insight tool uses software developed by engagement specialists Pobi, and provides a one-stop view for assessing the capability of the business. From recruitment and on-boarding inductions through to performance and career development, the engagement tool identifies the skills and knowledge necessary for the Ageas broker business to develop now and maps developmental milestones required in the future.
The bespoke software, which has already improved employee-manager relationships, takes the form of a simple on-screen dashboard. The dashboard identifies the strengths and weaknesses of employees and recognises ways to refocus competence depending on the business need and individual objectives. The assessment of proficiency is built into the Learning and Development blueprint for the Ageas Broker Sales Academy which encompasses comprehensive training modules which are linked to role mapping.
The Ageas Sales Academy reinforces Ageas's approach to investing in its future capability to support its growth plans. Mark Cliff, CEO of Ageas Retail and Distribution in the UK, commented:
"We are proud of the relationships we've built up with our brokers, partners and customers and our Sales Academy is evidence that we're committed to providing a consistent level of knowledge and expertise to all of our customers. We've been working with young and innovative company, Pobi, to create an analytical framework that helps us to harness, develop and measure our skills and knowledge consistently. Not only does this approach benefit our customers, but it promotes personal development from within the business. It's important to us to grow our own talent and, when complemented by consistent processes and training, we can be confident that we offer a first-class service."
Paul Burton, Director of pobi, said:
"It is widely known that better employee engagement leads to improved productivity and ultimately growth. We partner with our clients to, firstly, help them to identify the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to deliver business objectives and secondly, to build a tool that gives an individual and tailored insight into the development areas that will create tangible and sustainable impact to performance. The system is flexible enough in order to guide the business and its people through career management by providing clear direction and development milestones."
Chris Dobson, Ageas Distribution and Development Director, said: 'The beauty of the Pobi product is that it has been adapted specifically for our people and our business. It communicates our attitude, values and culture making engagement much easier. Results so far have been promising and we're looking forward to seeing how this approach might work in other areas of the business.'
